1Ondokuzmayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Kalp ye Damar Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, Samsun Between January 1989 - March 1999 at Ondokuz May's University Medical School Department of Cardiovascular Surgery 23 patients underwent to extra-anatomic bypass operations . In 17 patients (74%) femoro - femoral bypass, In 5 patients (21.5%) axillo - bifemoral bypass and in one patient (4.5%) axillo - unifemoral bypass were performed. 15 (65%) PTFE vascular graft, 6 (26%) dacron vascular graft and 2 (9%) roverse safenous vein graft were used in the-v. se operations. Several complications have been developed in early postoperative period in 5 patients (21.5%). 3 (13%) of them were Incisional bleeding, 2 (8.5%) of them were early graft trombosis. In late postoperative period, graft trombosis was dedected in 7 (30%) patients. Graft Infection evolved in one patient and this infected graft was remo ved and a new graft was replaced. Major amputation was performed in 2 patients. Hospital mortality is 4.5% (1 pall.. ent).15 patients (%65) have been observed about 4 months - 6 years without any problem.
