Objective: Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) is recommended as first-line
treatment in AV fistula failures. Material and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 72 end stage
renal failure patients treated in our clinic for AV fistula insufficiency between January 2014 and
June 2016. Results: The mean age of the patients studied was 64.88±11.56. Thirty-three (45.8%)
cases were male. The postoperative one year patency rate was 77.8%, seconder patency rate was
83.4%. Conclusion: We think that endovascular treatment of AV fistula failures can be performed
safely with acceptable patency and as first-line treatment.
