Treatment of Isolated Common Iliac Artery Aneurysm with Iliac Branched Endograft: Case Report
1Departments of Radiology, Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, Ankara2Departments of Cardiovascular Surgery, Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, Ankara DOI : 10.9739/uvcd.2013-35077 Aneurysms of the iliac arteries are frequently associated with abdominal aortic ane- urysms and isolated common iliac artery aneurysms are very rare. The risk of rupture and morta- lity in patients with untreated isolated iliac artery aneurysm is very high. In recent years, endovascular treatment has become a successful alternative to open surgery. One of the options for endovascular treatment consists of excluding the aneurysm from the vascular system via tubular stent-graft after occlusion of the internal iliac artery. Ischemic complications may be seen frequently after this procedure. Iliac branched endograft, also called as iliac bifurcation device, has been in- troduced to eliminate these complications. Herein, we present a 52-year-old male case with isola- ted fusiform right common iliac artery aneurysm extending to the iliac bifurcation which was successfully treated with iliac branched endograft for the first time in Turkey.
