SYNTHETIC VASCULAR GRAFTS: AN OVERVIEW

Both synthetic and biologic prosthetic grafts are widely used in vascular surg ery. Biol o gic ones are pro cured by vari ous techniques and the synthetic ones are either woven or knitted or mad e by chemical m ethod s. in order to use them properly a detailed knowledge of their propert ies is necessary. Now a days in addition to vascular surgeo ns, t h eyire also used by invasive radio logists in p ercutaneou s procedures. in this rewiew we present a bri ef information regarding their properties, manifact urig processes and t he most appropr iate circumstan ces of their usage.
