Kardiyak Orüinli Arten,el Emboliler

From 1984 to 1994, 228 patients who had cardiac mural thrombi, operated on with a total of 246 arterial embolism in our department. There were 122 male (53.5 %) and 106 females (46.5 %), age ranging from 11 to 87 years. The most involved by common iliac artery. Recurrent embolism were seen in 18 patients and suture-line thrombosis in 8 patients. The early mortality rate was 7 % (16 patients). Limb salvage rate was 96.7 % (221 patients). Results are ac­ ceptable. We conclude that embolectomy for acute arterial embolism can be performed safely with low amputation rate in cases with cardiac mural thrombi.
