ACUTE TRAUMATIC AORTIC R0PTURE

Acute traumatic aortic rupture in the place of aortic isthmus with pelvic fracture and servical injury developed on the 18-year old male patient after a traffic accident.ln the rupture region where we reached by left thoracotomy incision, the proximal and distal aorta was clamped and aortic rupture was repaired with tubular graft interpo siti on.ln order to prevent spinal cord isc­ hemia neither active nor passive shunt was applied in this case.The patient was discharged on the 7th postoperative day wit­ hout any complication .
