OUR EXPERIENCES ABOUT BRESCIA-CIMINO ARTERIOVENOUS FISTULA

A retrospective analysis of the patency of the arteriovenous fistulas (AV) for hemodialysis is reported in this paper and we emphasize it's possible without graft. Four hundred forty-eight Brescia-Cimino arteriovenous fistulas wereperformed in 355 patients. There were no patients necessitate the graft irnplantatlion. Primary patency rata of AV fistulas with brachial artery (97%) was better than radial artery (76%), statistically significant (p<0.05). We stress that a suitable vein can be found by a careful examination of patients arm. Tha surgical technique is of great importance on the fistula patency.
