LOWER EXTREMITY VENOUS DOPPLER ULTRASONOGRAPHIC FINDINGS IN A CASE WITH KLIPPEL-TRENAUNAY SYNDROME (CASE REPORT)

Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome is seen relatively rare and is characterised asa triad. These are bone and soft tissue hypertrophy, varicose veins and cutaneous hemangioma. Atresia, hypoplasia or the obstruction of the deep venous system are the underlying causes of the vascular abnormality. We present a 9 year-old child who is involving this syndrome. Lower extremity color doppler ultrasonographic findings showed the abnormalities of deep venous system which are the marked decrease in the calibrations of the left superficial femoral vein and the popliteal vein according to the counter part. And the characteristic abnormal lateral venous channel on the left limb. These findings are also observed in the venography.
