IS ENDOLUMINAL GRAFTING iN ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSMS ALTERNATIVE TO CONVENTIONAL SURGERY?

T h e high mortality and morbidity rates in high risk patients with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm(AAA) force the develop­ ment of alternative methods. Endovascular repair of AAA is a less invasive management method of AAA. Endovas­ cular repair of AAA causes less hemodynamic changes, kidney injury, bowel ischemia and reperfusion injury, resul­ ted in less morbidity and mortality rates. Early and mid-term results of endoluminal graftin g show that this method can be used in the repair of aneurysms in acceptable success and complication rates. However !he queslion whether the long term results of endoluminal grafting remains unanswered.
