TITANIUM CREENFIELD AND TRAPEASE INFERIOR VENA CAVA FILTERS

The use of anticoagulants together with inferior vena cava filters decreases the emboli incidence significantly when pulmonary embolism (PE) is concerned. in this retrospective study we followed 22 patients lor recurrent PE, caval thrombosis, filter migration and caval perforation. Two patients had recurrent pulmonary emboli and one patient de­ veloped caval thrombosis. Caval perforation and filter migratiorı was not observed. There was no mortality in the pa­ tient group, the filters used in this period in our clinic were TrapEase and titanium Greenfield filters.
