REPAIRS OF ILIAC ARTERY ANEURYSM ASSOCİATED WITH ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSM

lsolat ed iliac arterial aneurysms are extremily seldom detected. in this study we aimed to assess the treatment modalities of iliac arterial aneurysms associated with infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms and their results. Between 1991 and 2002 we operated 16 such cases. Unilateral common iliac arterial aneursym was present in 4 patients while bilateral involvement was present in 12 patients. Severe coronary artery stenosis was detected in 5 patients. One patient underwent one-stage CABG and aneursym repair. Three patients underwent CABG first and aneurysm repair !hen after as a staged procedure. Ali patients were operated using the transperitoneal approach. Aortobifemoral bypass was pertormed in 10 patients, aortobiiliac bypass was performed in 5 patients and aortoright iliac -left femoral bypass was per1ormed in 1 patient. Two patients died in postoperaitve early period.

lliac arterial aneursyms associated with abdominal aortic aneursyms can be surgically treated with low morbidityand mortality rates after the treatment of concomittant cardiac pathologies if present.
