COMPARTMENT SYNDROME CAUSED BY DELAYED ONSET OF HEMATOMA AFTER AN ANGIOGRAPHY PERFORMED FROM THE BRACHIAL ARTERY

As it is well-known that femoral arteries are commonly preferred as the main site in cardiac catheterization and angiography. Due to some restrictions for femoral arteries, brachial arteries are selected as an alternative site for this invasive procedure. But an angiography performed from the brachial artery can bring complications with itself. In this study we try to explain the diagnostic problems, the diagnosis and the treatment of a compartment syndrome with secondary median nerve palsy caused by delayed onset of hematoma in the arm occured in 10 days after the angiography performed from the brachial artery in a 76-year-old man who had been given long time medication of warfarin.
