THE SUPERFICIAL VEIN GRAFT FOR THE TREATMENT OF INFECTED AORTIC GREFT

Graft infection is a challenging problem for the vascular surgeon and is a critical issue that can affect the patient"s quality of life and can even have a life threatining course. Various procedures have been suggested and employed, but still there is no optimal management for the therapy of this important problem. We are reporting a vascular reconstruction case which we preffered superficial femoral veins for the treatment of infected aortobifemoral graft. We suggest that the use of autogenous femoral veins for the treatment of infected grafts is a satisfactory surgical alternative. (Turkish J Vasc Surg 2005;14(2):39-42).
