INFECTED FALSE FEMORAL ARTERY ANEURYSM CAUSED BY A RETAINED CATHETER

Infected false aneurysm of femoral artery may cause lower limb loss and mortality. Infected tissue debridement and myoplasties are important as much as distal arterial revascularization with otogen vein grefts. Sartorius myoplasties provides both cover deep wound closure and increase blood flow of affected segments. Increased blood flow provides diffusion of antibiotic to the affected wound segments which also provides infection control on the femoral area. Most of blood flow of sartorius muscle comes from deep femoral artery so revascularization of deep femoral artery is much more important during the surgery of infected pseudoaneurysm of femoral artery.
