Abstract
Aneurysms of the extracranial carotid arteries are quite uncommon and they can cause life threatening complications. Owing to the potential risk of stroke and rupture in the large aneurysms, which were involving the oropharinx and cranial nerves, surgical treatment has been preferred. The results of the surgery have been satisfactory for the long term survival. In this paper we report of a patient whom we operated for his extracranial internal carotid artery aneurysm. (Turkish J Vasc Surg 2006;15(2):49-52).
