TREATMENT OF THE OCCLUDED SUBCLAVIAN ARTERY LEADING TO CORONARY STEAL SYNDROME: CASE REPORT

Recurrence of angina pectoris after stenosis or total occlusion of the subclavian artery in patients who had their coronary arteries revascularised with the internal mammary artery is very rare. The classical strategy is to revascularise the subclavian artery with a graft, but now percutaneous interventions are also preferred more commonly. Here we report the successful implantation of a stent in a case with recurrent angina pectoris due to occlusion of the left subclavian artery two years after his coronary bypass operation with the left internal mammary artery.
