Dev Popliteal Arter Anevrizması ile Birlikte Femoral Arter Anevrizması: Olgu Sunumu

Popliteal artery aneuryms (PAA) constitutes 70% of all peripheral arterial aneurysms approximately. The patients with PAA also have increased risk of arterial aneurysms at the other regions of arterial system. We reported the diagnosis and treatment approach to patient who have giant PAA concomitant femoral artery aneurysm, in this paper. Seventy-six-year old male patient admitted to our clinic with complaints of right groin and left leg swelling and pain. The tomography demonstrated a 12x16 cm left popliteal and 5,2x7 cm right common femoral arterial aneurysms. The patient underwent surgery. Endoaneurysmorraphy and Dacron greft interposition were per- formed in both region. Mean annual rate of symptom of PAA is 14%. Approximately 1/3 of PAA may result in complications such as acute thrombosis, distal embolization and rupture which may lead to loss of extremity or life. Medial approach and use of sahenous vein graft are commonly pre- ferred methods for the surgical treatment. The patients with PAA should be evaluated with regards to extensiveness of the aneurysmal disease prior to surgery and surgical treatment should be deter- mined according to diameter, dimension and extensiveness of the aneurysm.
