Akut Mezenterik Vasküler Olay ile Birlikte Radyal Arterde Trombüs

Peripheral arterial cannulation is an invasive method frequently used for continious arterial blood pressure monitorization and arterial blood gas analysis in critical patients. Due to its ea- se and low possibility of complications, radial artery is usually preferred. A 50-year old male patient with a past medical history of chronic atrial fibrillation was admitted to hospital with complaints of generalized abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. He was diagnosed to have an acute mesenteric vascular event and was subjected to massive small bowel resection. However, during the operation, invasive blood pressure monitorisation could not be achieved via left radial arterial catheterisation. Therefore, a Doppler ultrasonographic evaluation was performed postoperatively and a thrombus occupying the left radial artery was found. For this reason, it should always be kept in mind that multiple foci of arterial thrombus may be seen in a patient.
