Renal Artery Stenosis and Aneurysm in a Child: Case Report

Renovascular hypertension is one of the important causes of childhood hypertension. The most frequent cause of renal artery stenosis is fibromuscular dysplasia and it is the cause of re- novascular hypertension in 60% of the cases. Takayasu arteritis plays a role in pediatric renovas- cular hypertension especially in Asian countries. Patients with renal artery stenosis causing hypertension resistant to antihypertensive treatment should be treated using endovascular or open surgical methods. Here we present successful surgical treatment of proximal renal artery stenosis in a child with multiple aneurysms of renal artery including lobar arteries by using right internal iliac artery.
