Treatment of Postoperative Inguinal Lymphocele with Fibrin Glue Injection: Case Report

Lympathic drainage from the groin secondary to lympathic vessel injury is a com- mon complication of vascular surgery. Extravasated lymph is often restricted by neighboring tis- sues. Inflammatory process triggered by lymphathic fluid itself favors the development of a capsule around it, and this localized lymph collection which is called lymphocele. Doppler ultrasound has been proposed as an effective modality for lymphocele diagnosis. Usually, small lymphoceles spon- taneously regress within a few days. The aim of this case report is to show the efficacy of fibrin glue (8 ml) and compression as a treatment option for lymphatic drainage and lymphocele after fe- moral artery and vein exploration in the groin which did not respond to conservative and surgi- cal therapy.
