İzole Gerçek Ana Femoral Arter Anevrizması

True aneurysm of the femoral artery is the second most common peripheral ane- urysm. The aneurysms are multiple and located in the common femoral artery . Isolated true ane- urysms of the common femoral artery are rarely seen. They are most frequently seen in elderly men, predominantly affecting the right lower extremity. A 73-year-old male patient admitted to our clinic with a pulsating swelling mass in his right groin. Doppler ultrasonography revealed a gi- ant common femoral artery aneurysm. The patient was surgically treated with total excision of the aneurysm and a Dacron interposition graft. Aneurysms of the common femoral artery greater than 2.5 cm should be repaired surgically. Surgical repair offers good results both in elective or emer- gency settings. Endovascular repair is currently an alternative technique. The patients with fe- moral artery aneurysm should be evaluated for the extent of the aneurysmal disease prior to surgery, and surgical treatment should be determined according to diameter, dimensions and extent of the aneurysm.
