Surgical treatment of localized internal carotid artery dissection: A case report

Internal carotid artery dissections are rarely seen; however, they are particularly critical for the development of cerebrovascular accidents, particularly in young patients. They may be spontaneous or mostly occur after trauma. Patients may be asymptomatic or may present with a variety of symptoms ranging from localized symptoms to stroke. In addition to medical treatment modalities, endovascular or surgical approaches can be used as the treatment of choice. In this article, we present a 77-year-old male case who was diagnosed with internal carotid artery dissection which was surgically treated.
