Amendment of informed consent forms in the cardiovascular surgery in accordance with recent regulation on patient rights and legal responsibility of cardiovascular surgeons

Physician or surgeon, who performs a number of medical procedures on the patient to diagnose, treat, or prevent progression of the disease, breaches, at least, the physical integrity of the patient. In some cases, these interventions may result in adverse health outcomes. When the physician is held to account for the outcome, legal responsibility is defendable in existence of an accurately prepared informed consent form for the appropriate indication for the intervention performed by the physician. It should be remembered that emerging adverse outcomes are able to be evaluated in accordance with by the current Turkish Criminal Law and Law of Obligations, since there is no specific law dedicated to medical practices.
